HUTNÍ PROJEKT Frýdek-Místek a.s. has completed modernization of Quenching tower for large volume COB with annual capacity of 1 mil t coke. The aim of the project was to reduce emissions of solids during coke quenching. The modernization consisted in the installation of a secondary quenching – secondary grid with special nozzles, accompanied by special stainless steel internals. It also included the installation of quenching water tanks and pipeline distribution. The result is compliance with emission limits for coke quenching dust emissions – less than 25 grams per tonne of dry coke produced and also reducing the water content of the quenched coke below 4.2%.
