HUTNÍ PROJEKT Frýdek-Místek a.s. has designed and implemented a new wet quenching of coke in a quenching tower. The existing system did not allow a uniform quenching of coke on a quenching car. New system was developed to improve coke cooling, consisting of spraying nozzles grid and placing new spraying nozzles in the quenching tower within the project. On the basis of calculations and knowledge of the current state, spray nozzles of two different diameters were used simultaneously, ensuring optimal splashing of the required quenching water along the whole quenching car. This has resulted in uniform quenching of coke.
